Hello all,

The previous owner of my boat installed a Wallas heater/stove. He installed the exhaust where it exits to the rear cockpit. We have camper canvas, we are getting posioned.

Is there any reason why I can't change the exhaust exit to the starboard side of the boat? Is this the normal way? Near the C-Dory logo?

Thanks,
John

Yes, John, our Wallas exhaust exits on the starboard side, as installed at the factory. Just be sure that the exhaust doesn't line up with a side bunk on your trailer... could be a fire hazard if you ever use the Wallas while on the trailer.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Thanks,

Is it just the basic hole only exhaust or does it have some sort of a clam shell in front of it?

As installed by the company it is the same thru the hull that is used for the sink drain and is in fact located about the same height and just aft of the sink.

I think that is the way all the Wallas' were installed by the factory on the early TomCats. I remember seeing a thread about that on the old C-DOGS site. John

I searched thru the photo albums and saw the photos of where it is installed. Appreciate the descriptions also.

I called Scan Marine in Seattle today and ordered a new piece of exhaust hose to replace the old one that the previous owner had cut short to go to the cockpit.

Anyone have a suggestion of how I should fill in / cover the old exhaust hole that goes thru my rear bulkhead wall into the cockpit??

Thanks
