First, the good news: Snowdon, our 1999 CD 22 advertised for sale over the past several months only on this site, is sold to a nice family who seem like they will enjoy the heck out of her.
Now, the so-so news--Snowdon is sold (sigh). She acted up a bit when she got the news, too. We put her in for a demonstration run, and she started right up--then dribbled and stopped making cooling discharge. Moral--it's true what they say about water pumps and impellers--keep an eye on yours. She'd sat for several months, after being winterized, and I guess the impeller decided to pack up or dry out from lack of exercise. How do you avoid that happening, I wonder, short of replacing the impeller every season or two?
We pulled her back out, to my embarrassment , and the family's disappointment, without much of a run. She's getting her bottom painted and the cooling problem repaired now, and hopefully, within a few days she'll be on the water as trouble free as when we were using her.
In any case, part of the enjoyment we've had with her came from contact with folks on this site. Muchas gracias for your help and responsiveness over the course of the past few years, and hopefully, within a short time, we'll see some of you on the water in the Puget Sound area as well as here in Annapolis. Best to you all. Bruce and Jane Holly |

Congratulations on the sale of your boat. Best and worst days of your life as the saying goes.
About your water pump impeller, I run my engine(s) at least once every 4 weeks, whether in the water or on the mickey mouse ears, period, no matter what, good for the carbs, good for the impeller. I change the impeller about every 3 years and monitor the water pressure on the dash. By the way, water pressure is only meaningful at rest otherwise the pressure underway is forcing the water into the engine, not with the pump. _________________ Steve & Carmen
