I kinda like this. The "Y" kinda looks like wings.

5 inch lettering below the windows. I think the big C in c-dory is 5 1/4" if I remember right. I think I went with 5" lettering on mine but only the first letter is capitalized so the rest of the letters are a bit smaller. |

GREAT looking boat, Patrick.
No input on the graphics, since it's such a personal preference thing.
But the boat is a beauty!
Good luck with her.

The CD-18 is looking great, Byrdman! Looks like brand new. As classy looking as she is, I'd keep the lettering in a somewhat formal font. Black with a gold outline would look sharp, too.
As a professional photographer, I often had to do layouts as well... SO many different fonts; you can make yourself crazy. Good luck with this decision.
Best wishes,

I like the "Wing" sort of thing--but you could make a sea gull type of "Y" _________________ Bob Austin

Cool... I might combine the two... I like oldgrowth fonts. I like the sea gull. Just use the sea gull instead of the dot or dash...and maybe use small caps on the "yrd" portion of Byrd. Humm... good stuff.
If I did put gold around it... I might have to trim out the black stripes in gold on the boat too.....and then....hang me some dice..... and then.....put a big ol cat tail fluffy thing on the VHY antenna... Go ahead.... pimp my boat.
Naw... just kidding....but, a touch of small gold trim does sound nice....to me. |

Good Morning Patrick,
Take a gander at "starcrafttom's" photo album. Tom and Susan have close friends from Ca. that did the graphics for the "Susan E". For the first time I saw their graphics on their vessel this weekend at Bellingham...........looks great and is unique to what most of us have done. I'm considering adding more flames on mine, but I'm concerned that if it looks too realistic, some fireboat will fill "Sea Shift" up with water, thinking we're on fire and send us down to "Davey Jones Locker".... .
(P.S. Tom and Susan had enough graphics "left over" to decorate their tow rig as well!) _________________ Dave S.

Don't forget a gold tooth cap or two for the captain! |
