I have a question and maybe this should be a poll question.
How many of you read all new post on this site?
I am having a difficult time keeping up lately. It has been less than nine hours since I read all new post and there has already been 93 new ones. If I miss a day or two it is impossible to catch up.
How many of you old timers that read all post, are having trouble keeping up now? _________________ Dave |

Used to be all...but I can't keep up any more.
I skim, read those that interest me, and mark some as watched topics so I don't miss a post about something I'm following.
I'm guessing I hit around 80%...unless I'm out of town. Then I basically ignore the place, along with the rest of the Internet. _________________ Will, C-Brat Nerd |

If I were a TV producer I would create "C-Brats The Reality Show" or at least a documentary film to capture the magic that is happening on this site. I'm not a C-Dory owner but I read almost everything on this site everyday. Call it an addiction or a guilty pleasure... I'm hooked. There's such a range of personalities and fabulous experiences, what's better than this? I read C-Brats before I read or skip the newspaper. You're wonderful people and I consider it a privilege to be able to listen in.

Used to read all--- to many now to keep up. It varies with the times, how busy and how many posts there are. _________________ Roger

If I'm "in the area", I probably read "in depth" 90% of them and skim the other 10%..........I wouldn't want to miss one of DOD's posts and he tends to slide them in on all threads ....kinda keeps the humor up!
If I'm gone for a couple or more days, then anymore I end up "quick scanning" the threads.
I remember when the Brats first started and 3 to 5 posts a day were a lot......we even had instant messaging for a while and we'd "talk" to each other "in live time". Don't figure, any of that is going to happen again with near 1800 members now. _________________ Dave S.

I must confess, I scrutinize the TC threads more than others. I do try and pay attention to any of the other stuff that crosses over. Wallas, Honda, etc.. Nothing beats brand specific information. I really like the gulf coast, but I envy the cruising waters that you have to enjoy in the NW. |

If forced to skip a few days I read "interest specific" posts and skim the subject lines on the rest. It is true that the sheer number of daily posts have gone up a lot even though my niece and nephew's count has slowed considerably since they acquired the AirHead. I wonder if there's a connection?

I'll have to ponder that one a while, Uncle Don. I don't see any immediate connection, but then, a person only has so much to give I suppose, whether it goes east and west or south! Actually I don't think our output has declined in absolute numbers, only as a percentage of the total...

I could say that I wasn't referring to bovine feces capacity, Pat, but it might jeopardize my chances for a serene afterlife.
It's genetic, I'm afraid.

This would be a different poll, but I wonder how many read via e-mail, and how many via the on-line forum?
I always read the forum itself. This gives me the choice of going to the site at my convenience, and browsing through the threads of interest.
When I log on, I find a note at the upper right indicating how many messages have been posted since my last visit. When I click on this I receive a list of just these messages. Even better, I get a list of just the threads containing these messages.
At this point I quickly CMD-click on the last page of each thread of interest to open each thread in a separate tab in my browser. They all load simultaneously. Then I click on each tab to see what's new. If necessary I can quickly scroll up and down to see the latest messages in order.
I probably look at about 2/3 of the posts, generally ignoring posts about gatherings in other regions.
