I was poking around the "Recent C-Dory photo activity" on the opening page and visited Nancy H's album. There are some wonderful photos and short narratives there about some launch ramps/floats. Squalicum Marina and Campbell River. These are invaluable resources for anyone thinking of going to these locations. As time passes they'll drop down and off the page. Wouldn't it be great to have a dedicted forum/detail photos where a database could be amassed. Several years ago I added some photos on the Port Orchard ramp with similar info. However, it's not available unless one knows to go there. We're all of us trailer sailors and I always like to know what awaits me before I venture forth. _________________ Pete

Pete,
Good idea!!
I was in Campbell River,BC and checked out that ramp. I figured someone might want to know about it sometime.
Summary,
Ramp is good, concrete, with alongside float. Its behind the breakwater in Discovery Harbor.
Parking is limited and may not be too secure. I have not used this ramp. _________________ Larry H

We have used Squalicum many times. We consider it to be a very good launching site. Fairly large paved parking lot. Additional parking (not paved) across the street just west of Redden Marine. $5 for launching and that includes the parking of vehicle and trailer (about 3 days, I think) Washdown area is available although water is shut off in the winter.
