Well Dan, with the exception of the vehicle rollover, your trip log brings me fond memories of the Bareflanks to Valdez run. Thank God you didn't hit the moose, you could have been hurt or severely damaged the vehicle and not made it to the dock. And I was complaining about having to hitch the trailer up and drag the boat a half mile to the ramp this weekend. I should be ashamed. Steve

I'm glad you all came through it OK. There's always a big chance of big pain when tipping over.

Oregon insurance works the same way. You gotta bump the critter just enough to get a hair or two on the rig. Then it is a comprehensive claim with usually lower deductible and no fault. It is probably a good rule - as I recall, most of my younger-days wrecks were the result of "swerving to miss"!

Good choice on the Jeep. I traded one in for the Dodge. Wish we had kept it instead of the dorky car.

I presume you weren't towing the boat. That coulda been ugly. I hit a moose with a Datsun Pickup on the Seward Highway up in the pass between Portage and Summit lake a few years ago. The moose rolled right over the top of the pickup, landed on it's feet and ran into the woods with no evidence that it was injured. Totalled the pickup. I had to drive 20 miles down to Portage with no windshield at 10 below zero. Scary buisness having one of those guys step in front of you on an icy road in the middle of the night.
