I was considering a Garmin 172C for my 22' cruiser and will be crusing the Great Lakes as well as the Mississippi River around WI and MI. What would be a good data chip to use in addition to the standard data that come's with the 172?
JL on Dutch Treat.

Yes...I just posted a reply on the site conserning the Garmin 188. It seems that on my 188 in the Hudson River using the base map at times it showed me on land when I was in the middle of the river (1 mile wide area) I just purchased a Blue Chart chip in hopes that the Hudson river base map is not as accurate as say a larger body of water..ie Mississippi.
