I have a 2003 Cruiser with a Wallas that had only been used once. When I went to fire it up it refused. The plate would warm up but the red light would not come on. Then it would begin to blink and shut down. Fortunately the good people at Scan Marine diagnosed the problem over the phone. The T-switch was malfunctioning. (Thermo switch) It penetrates the heat box just like the ignitor. It was fairly easy to remove - two wires and a philips head screw. The tech told me they have had a bad batch in and around 2003.

Just a heads up in case any one else runs across this.

PS Sure is nice to have a cozy cabn

Well, looks like we have switch #2 that is bad. My serial #5021 and Karl informs me that serial #5035 and below is where there may be some bad switches (2003 boat as well). At any rate, he's sending one gratis and I hope that is it -- only thing I can add on installing is it needs to be loose to function properly.

It is on a very small sticker located on the right/front of the unit body. If you put your hand on right edge of it you'll practically be touching the sticker.

From the number of posts over the years, and our own experience (our first one on the 2003 CD22 Daydream had to be replaced), these can be finicky little critters. But when they are functioning, they are just the best!

Continuing Saga of the Wayward Wallas:

Well -- looks like this one is going back to Scan Marine. I've replaced the temp sensor, cleaned the burner can and reamed the fuel line with a 1/16th drill bit per factory instructions and the longest the unit has run is 26 minutes before shutting down. At least I did get it to run, even if not for long.

Agree with Pat above -- invaluable when working and going into winter, I want it to work on my schedule!

Boxed and off for repair tomorrow.

Just got a call from Scan Marine that the wayward Wallas is on it's way back with a new fuel pump, fan, and glow plug and the admonition to dump the fuel twice a year if not using it regularly. I asked about the Kleen Heat, and he said it made no difference as long as the fuel was fresh -- just use the diesel.

Now I just have to recall how I got it out . . .
