This October i will be embarking on a three week trip around Chesapeake Bay...My "Cherish the Waters" tour. I will be travelling by boat and have a schedule to keep. If I were to put together an emergency "spare parts' kit for the trip, what would be recommended?
It is not alwasy easy here to easily find a Honda dealer.

Spare prop., nut and pin. Plus all tools needed to get it done. ( should really practice this)
Fuses
Spare bulbs for nav. Lights. they will all burn out at some point. You will most likely be on the water using them when it happens.
Spare fuel line with a little separate tank as a back up.
I'm certain others could add to this list.

Not to say anything about your intelligence...but always bring your brain. Know when things should be left alone and when too much is too much. So, pretty much common sense. Travel safe, Good Luck

A book, deck of cards and things to occupy yourself when you are weathered in .
Fuel filters, fuel water separator filters, oil filters, spark plugs, extra nav light bulbs, extra fuses, some kind of meter to test electrical and maybe somebody pretty to play the games and change the fuel filters . _________________

A roll or two of good quality duct tape...and a roll or two of good quality stainless steel wire...of different gauges. Amazing the number of problems that can be remedied with these items. _________________ Chris

All of the above plus a collection of stainless fasteners, extra fuses, spare cotter keys for the prop nut, manuals for your electronics and motor. Would also carry some spare wire, crimp connectors (butt connectors, and spade connectors) and a crimping tool.
Sounds like a fun trip and a good cause.

Tom --
Sure agree with Mike and Judy -- scrap the schedule!! It could 'force' you into bad weather, high wind, and nervous indigestion. Then the critical thing to bring along is a kicked back attitude and you'll have a great time. Ohh -- and Chris is right -- don't forget the duct tape and stainless wire! Have a bon voyage. _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)
