Hi,
Were new members and don't actually have a C-Dory product yet, but we will be getting C-Ranger 25 hull #7 in June. We live in Anacortes, WA and expect to spend a lot of time on the water later this summer from the San Juans to Vancouver Island (as long as my retirement happens when planned).
I've already spent time searching your archives and appreciate the wealth of knowledge it contains. We have lots more to learn. Checking out what electronics we'll want right now.
Look forward to seeing you on the water,
Art and Diane |

Welcome to the pub Art and Diane.
I live on Guemes. Launch out of Cooks Cove just across from Cap Sante. Looking forward to meeting up with you on your new Ranger 25. Pat and Patti, my brewery partners, also have a C-Dory 25 right now and are waiting for Ranger 25 hull # 4 or 5. Not sure which. _________________ David and Kate

Congratulations to all on your new Ranger 25's---- I have looked at the line drawings, but I cannot figure out how it can sleep 6 comfortably? Can anyone who has seen this boat advise me. The floor plan seems very similiar to the C-25, which only sleeps 4 at best. Thanks Rich |

Rich-
The way most boats are laid out, to sleep 6 comfortably, you'll need about a 28-30 footer or larger: two in the V-berth, 2 on the "roomy" dinette, and one on either side of the boat back under the companionway. (The other side from the dinette is usually taken up by the galley, etc.)
Other arraangements are possible, but less common.
Maybe you could get Don, a retired submariner, to design some nice, tight, enlisted men's pipe berths and really load up a 25! Be sure to save space for the missle tubes!
Sorry to be joking around so much!

Congratulations Art and Diane on your soon to be new tug!
I wonder who's tug that is going to be that our little boy was sitting on the swim step at the factory. He was all smiles because he thought we were getting that boat!

Hi Sea Wolf--- Yeah, I hear what your saying, I also have a 30' sailboat that is SUSPOSE to sleep 6, but I wouldn't want that many on board at one time. What I'm looking at is the information from C-Dory on the C-Ranger 25---- that basically states, a semi-planning, trailerable hull, with comfortable accomodations for up to 6 people? Interesting, maybe you are suspose to take turns sleeping on the berths. Rich |

Yes, a sleeping capacity of 6 is a bit of a stretch. Two below in the V-berth and 2 each in the dinnette and sitting area. Maybe if 4 were kids.
Most of the time it'll be just the 2 of us, especially if it's overnight.
Talked to Jeff today and the June date is still good. We're visiting him at the factory Monday, but I'd guess our hull isn't molded yet.

Hi Art-- if you are going to see Jeff on Monday, please ask him about the statement in the brochure. Thanks Rich
P.S. I had a Grand Banks 32, that really only slept 4 comfortably, but it would party 20-25. |

There's a 2 person (very familiar and small persons) under the dinette. That makes six. It's down the companionway aft of the dinette.

We were on the C-Ranger 25 hull that was at the Seattle Boat Show. There is a double berth on the port side about 2/3 of the way back that is tucked under the dinette - a very clever usage of space. My opinion is that 6 overnight on a small boat would be WAY too close... but, it could be done.
Best wishes,
Jim B.

That space on the port side abaft of the dinette had a special name. Pat Anderson referred to it as a "Coffin Closet" or something similar!
I remember Pat saying he wasn't quite sure how to make use of it....
Maybe it could be the "Mother In Law's Quiet Quarters" ?

Thanks--- for the info and picture, now I understand, great idea, also looks like a good spot for duffle bags and possibly an inflatable. Rich |

Just curious--- how does the C-Ranger 25 compare to the Alaskan 24 (murphy) that was built in the 90's? I know the beam is 6" wider and probably 12" longer, but they seem very much alike. Rich |

there was a picture of the Murphy and a discussion of the differences on the thread, "What would you like to see on the Ranger 25?" John _________________ Sold 2007 TomCat TC255, Tom-a-Hawk |
