Hello! I know this subject has been posted about previously, and I've read all the forums (thank you, already learned so much!) But I wanted to reopen a discussion to see if anyone has done this more recently.

We are considering towing our 22" Cruiser to La Paz - stopping along the way where there opportunities to boat camp (boaterhome) and or put the boat in the water for the day or overnight and then hopefully stay in La Paz for a while and boat out of there.

We are currently towing with a 2010 Tacoma 4x4 with good tires and low mileage. However she could be expensive towing and possibly pushing our limits if we are loaded up so we're open to selling our beloved Tacoma for something better (any suggestions?)

We don't have a time of year set yet but maybe leaving in December/January. And maybe spend 3 months or more on the journey. We are PNW'ers from BC and Vancouver Island so we're not afraid of a little weather and have experience on a lot of windy/narrow/bad roads. My husband is an over packer, with most things have two or three back ups and we are aware this would be a lot of off grid and self sustainability.

I visited Loreto in 2006 so I do have a general sense of how the area is but I expect it's changed a lot since then.

Any thoughts/tips or experiences are appreciated.

Thanks!

Addison

Puerto Escondido, 25 miles or so South of Loreto is a top notch marina (not Fonatur) and a great place to launch.

You are in luck as I just did this trip 4 weeks ago. Probably best if you PM me with your number and I’ll give you a call. There is a lot to discuss. It was overall a fantastic trip and we will be returning to Baja. You have the right idea- take it nice and slow and you will have a great time.
