Recently bought a 2019 C Dory 22ft cruiser.
Wishing to have a small tv with a dvd player for evenings.
The boat does not have a wallace cook top just open counter.
Is there a better place ???
Thanks _________________ Conan Schmitt |

I used a computer monitor arm and one hole in the table. I can be faced any direction raised or lowered. I just set a dvd player on the table. I didn't use a TV I used a computer monitor. I either play dvd's or stream to it with a laptop. I think you should put it where you can see it from the captain seat. _________________ Jody Kidd

I have seen a number of boats with a flip down TV mounted under the cabin ceiling. It could be under the electronics shelf also. That does reduce the head room, however.
We usually use DVD's on our computer or stream TV if we need it. StarLink offers a whole new posts of possibilities. Many of the Great Loop Boats now. have StarLink--and all seem happy with it. _________________ Bob Austin

I have a large (14") android tablet for entertainment. Things can be loaded in advance or downloaded along the way if there is a suitable connection. This tablet also has a detachable keyboard and you can use a USB mouse or the touchscreen making it suitable for online emails, shopping, general browsing. The only thing is that it needs to be plugged into 12v power if it is going to be used for longer periods.
You might look at a Chromebook.
I have a Starlink Mini that I got for a camper van. I'll probably try it on my CD 22 this summer to see how well it works. Right now Starlink Mini service is US$50 for one month (50Gb) of service. Excess data is $1/Gb. The service can be started at stopped as needed (in 1 month blocks). The list price of a Starlink Mini unit is $599, but it does seem to go on sale regularly. |
