Ok, I'm sure these are not new to anyone and maybe using these would be considered, less than masculine Embarrased but I must say these things work great. I got mine for $15 at the local Uhual hitch center. Anyway if anyone has seen these but wondered if they really work I can say that they do.

now that's a fine gadget and $15 well spent. They can also be used at the upcoming Cathalamet gathering for key retrevial (if somebody by some chance was to drop their keys in the drink).

What a simple and great idea.
I will have to make a trip to the U-Haul place Monday.

The instructions say to use your rear view mirror to line up the two sticks but I prefer to look back since the depth perception seems better that way. Once you get used to them you literally can put the receiver thing right over the ball.

You might call your uhaul place first as not all of them carry it. We have a Uhaul Hitch center or something like that and they do carry them.

Interesting. While messing with some casting resin and a couple of those "super magnets" I built the equivalent using 3/8" dowel stock and a couple of old film canisters. Threw the magnet in, set the dowel and filled it up with activated resin. Gotta agree, it's super convenient and after a while you'll easily judge when you're "on" by the amount of tilt.

Now if someone would just come up with a similar arrangement to guide the pickup back under the camper.

Sue-C,
I use a black rubber bed mat in my truck. To help load my camper, I masked off a 1 in wide line and spray painted it white. I placed it to exactly line up with the bottom left edge of the camper. Now I can easily see the position(left-right) and the angle to keep it straight as I back under.

I got a pair of these rods as a Christmas gift - or something like them - I have yet to use them. The pair I got sit in the back of the hangar and when I shut off the lights glow in the dark. I can't yet say they work but they have to be better than the "hunt 'n peck" procedure I usually use.
