Various life challenges force sale. We've enjoyed our short time with the uniquely well-appointed C-Dory on the Chesapeake Bay and St Lawrence River. It's been stored indoors each winter we've owned her and outdoors at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD during the season.

Can be delivered (negotiable on time and coast)

Pictures are available by emailing me: danmc61@gmail.com

In-person viewing will require coordination (unless you have an ID that will let you on post)

Most details (ask if you need more):
1994 C-Dory Cruiser Hull Number DOR22657F394
2004 Yamaha 115, Model F115STXR with Permatrim
Garmin 942XS with radar, depth finder, and US Maps
Handheld and panel mounted VHF radios
Invertor
Shore Power
Rocket launchers
BBQ Grill
Refrigerator
Propane stove (never used)
Original (refurbished) roller, 2 axle trailer with new winch, 2022 tires
Comes with Renogy solar panel and charge controller, NMEA 2000 cables and terminators
Custom rear enclosure
Tinted glass
Anchor and electric windlass (cabin control)
Custom berth cushions
Rooftop A/C Unit
Portable Yamaha Generator

This C-Dory was completely refurbished by the previous owner with a few non-standard choices (such as tinted glass, bench behind passenger seat, etc). If you insist on factory purity, you should look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a seaworthy, well-appointed, well-maintained C-22, this is it.

$40k

Are C-Dorys no longer in demand?

Beautiful, beautiful boat with some really high end interior finishes. Inside and out, it gleams with pride of ownership.

Can you talk a little bit about about the cabin top? I am more familiar with the 6-inch raised center section ("regular roof"), or the 9(?)-inch raised center section ("high roof"). I don't think I've ever seen one with no pop out at all. What is the practical interor height? Was that a custom job, or did it come that way?

Thanks!

We've been very happy with this C-Dory! And would rather not sell, but... life. :-/

I'm 6'1" and can stand in the center -- though I have to duck a bit for the A/C unit. I have to duck through the doorway (and sometimes forget). I don't know if it's 6" or 9" (I've seen two other C-Dorys ever and one was a Tomcat).

Perhaps DaninPA would tell us the history of this boat for those who have not been CBrats for some period of time.

Recent history starts with our purchase from the previous owner who had the vessel completely refurbished to include interior, powerplant, electronics, electrical, windows, winch, and gel coat (someone on here said it was a hurricane salvage).

Upon purchase I had the trailer axles, lights, brake controller, and brakes replaced (now electric as we don't boat in salt water). I repainted the hull bottom, added Permatrim (almost a necessity with the 115 on a C-22) and have since replaced the winch, jack, tires, and several other items.

We used it in both the upper Chesapeake Bay and St Lawrence River. The engine has been flawless, sips fuel, and operates like a Swiss watch.

The electronics are amazing: Garmin 942 with sonar, radar, and the full map suite.

Last year we were only out one weekend (my mother passed rather suddenly in July and my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He lived with us under hospice care until December).

Other life complications prevented me from getting the boat in the water yet, so it remains in indoor storage. I hope to bring it up to clean and for season prep next week so it can be viewed and/or tested by prospective buyers.

Yes the boat was a hurricane salvage. That is the reason that the top is flat, and the side walls of the cabin are higher than usual.
I have complete photos of the boat after the hurricane damage. The hull was relatively undamaged. The cabin was badly damaged, inside and out.

Thanks for bringing this up to date. I do feel that when a boat has been salvaged that the next buyer should know that. I once bought a far more expensive boat which had been salvaged, and then dropped on the rocks by the salvage crane / cranes. The seller denied the history, even though I directly questioned him at sea trial. He bought the boat from the salvage company. I revealed the salvage history (took some detective work) to the person who bought the boat from me--and what had been done to bring it up to specs. I have followed that boat since, and most of the times it was sold, that was not revealed, even thought I told the yacht brokers of the salvage.

Florida now gives "Salvage" Titles. My Caracal now has a salvage title, since it sank at the dock, although there was no hull damage. The boat has been totally rewired, and dewatered, at a cost of over $12,000, and there will be some more spent.

I personally feel that in good faith, when a boat has been salvaged, it should be part of the sales history. Boats can be restored to functional or even better than new condition. But it should be the right of the new owner to know what basis he starts from--and do his own due diligence. I am sure that there are C Brats who will differ with me.

I will be documenting the restoration of my Caracal in "The Hull Truth"--as other salvaged boats have been so depicted on that forum.

Thank you daninPA for commenting that the boat has a hurricane damage history, which I believe you knew of at the time or your purchase, or at least shortly thereafter (according to your posts). I am sure that all of us in the CBrat family send our sympathy and empathy to the loss of your mother, and illness of your father...

"Salvage" titles can be difficult to insure (even if the vehicle is actually better than new). Buyer beware.

Not in this case -- full insurance, $350/year.

I actually did not know that until you mentioned it on here.

While it should have been mentioned by the previous owner, the current state of the boat is likely superior then original.

It's seaworthy, well-appointed, is predictable, efficient, and has been all we hoped when we purchased it.

Smile

That said, if anyone is interested but wary, I'm more than happy to provide access for a survey or other assessment.

I just looked at the add. That is a great looking boat. For that price someone should jump on it.

A prospective owner had a survey completed. I only have the summary which states the vessel is in "ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION."

There were no findings other than a few minor items (none of which affected us for the three seasons we had the boat). Some examples: KIDDE Marine Fire Extinguisher is on recall, flares are expired, some batteries are dead (all expected as I have not prepared the boat for the season as I normally do).
