Anyone have a gut feel for when the season dates might be for this year? I've looked but I don't think they've been announced so far. _________________ Sandy McKean

First time out for me, went out all three days. Tried several previously known good spots between San Juan and Stuart Islands.
We limited two out of three days, but it was tough work. Lots of empty pots, wind and currents were rough at times.
New to shrimping, and another first - I was convinced to eat one raw. Surprisingly good!
This guy had a bad day, a little north of Friday Harbor. We assumed the boat was gonna be trashed given the weather, but it was gone the following AM.

Fairly easy limits in Hood Canal. Saturday we were done after first pull.

Weather improved just enough on Thursday & Friday last week in 7 west. We caught three limits both Thursday & Friday. Largest pot had 139. Smallest zero. Seemed better at swallower depths like 250-275. Two commercial boats moved in and starting laying long lines of 10 pots each in an attempt to squeeze out the rec guys. By then we were pulling our pots and limited, so we left. Started at 0700 and we were done by 1030. _________________ "We can go over there...behind the 'little one'....."

We were out at ice berg on saturday afternoon and had pot puller problems. Had to hand pull twice. We end up with 80 total. ate them over the next tree nights. Limits of ling cod more then made up for it. Two more opener's for 7 west coming up and those will be sat and sunday. _________________ Thomas J Elliott
