I now have posted two pictures on the C-Dory being built for me (can be viewed under my name since I don't have an official name for the boat yet). These were taken when the top and bottom were put together three weeks ago. The completion date for the boat is now towards the end of March. I will post more pictures as NMI sends them to me.
I don't have an official name for the boat yet, but the current favorite is WATT NOW. I would have like to pick Electra, but she was a nasty character in Greek mythology (the sister of Oedipus), so I don't think that is appropriate for a boat. |

I do like Current-C
Will also be a good one while using the vhf radio, not that the other suggestion are not good. _________________ Stephan

Thanks for all the suggestions for names. However, I have decided to stick with WATT NOW. That is still my favorite.
My new C-dory 22 cruiser will be finished next week and I will post the data on performance as soon as I get it into the water. However, that will probably not be until mid-May. On my trip south to Lacey WA I the boat will berth for a few days at King Marine Canvas to have a camper top installed. Then I have to build the second berth on the starboard side and install all the custom wiring needed for the electric propulsion. |

WATT NOW is a great name. Be sure to take photos during the wireing process and of your interior cabin setup. Enjoy the rest of your build. _________________ Gary F

NMI has now finished my C-Dory 22 cruiser and we installed the electric outboards today. I posted two pictures in my photo album (Tom Hruby). The next step is to take the boat to King Marine Canvas in Seattle to have the camper top installed. |

It looks like those are 6 or 9 kw outboards, which is enough to get you to hull speed but no faster. Do you agree?

The motors I have are 3kW each. They do however, look the same as the 6 kW models since they have the same motor cowling. Based on my calculations and experience with my St. Pierre Dories I believe I only need about 6 kW to reach hull speed. However, I usually cruise at about 5mph and to get to that speed I expect to only need about 2.5 kW. Real numbers will be posted when I actually get the boat in the water; probably sometime in mid-May. |
