We recently replaced our Honda engines with Yamaha 150s and they mounted them a little too high. There are currently two bolt hole positions available to lower the engines and I am trying to figure out if we should lower them one or two holes. Our Tomcat has the PDR engine bracket. Can anyone tell me what mounting height their engines are? |

I was having really poor performance with my Tomcat and thought it was the wrong props but it turned out the outboards were mounted to high. The standard is the cavitation plate should be 1" above bottom of the transom for every 12" the bracket is back from the transom. Made big difference for me.

2010/2011 Yamaha F150's are mounted through the second hole from the top on a Pooder bracket. At cruise the top of the bracket should be slightly awash, and it is.
Good luck,
