I'm building a roof rack for Hammerhead. I'm going to build a cargo basket and going to put rocket launchers on the back near the cockpit. Anybody have a suggestion for the closest center to center measurement between tubes? I'm thinking 6".

Depends on the size of the reels you are expecting to use.

6" would be pretty tight. I just measured center to center + a little extra to keep the handles from tangling..here's what I got-
Shimano tekota 500 salmon/rock fish reel, 7-7.5" would be a good dimension
big penn sturgeon/haiibut reels 8"

it's plum aggravating to have to clock all your reel handles to get the rods stored

6" is fine for most reels.

Thanks, I'm going to go with 7", which will give me 7 tubes total.
