Generally the "Float on" trailer is considered the best. The capacity can be in the 11,000 lbs to 13,000 lbs. It should have electric over hydraulic brakes. Good Year endurance tires are considered the best.

It is nice to have steps or a ladder in the front. Be sure that the bow stop goes all of the way across and is properly braced. There should be a structure in the center to help keep the boat centered. I also like side bunks near the rear of the trailer. LED lights, and I put extra lights on the PVC guides. (red to the rear clearance, and amber forward and outward. Red stop and brake/ turn single.

The bunks should give support the full length. I put slicks on the front 1/3 of the bunks.

As Bob said, Float-on is a good trailer for a TomCat and since you live in FL, I'd recommend you contact Marc at Wefings. He's a Float-on dealer and is very familiar with the TomCat. I got my trailer from Marc (even though I'm at the opposite corner of the country).

Hi Rick and Anita!

+1 for Rogerbum and Bob.
We replaced the PO’s trailer with a Bob Austin/ Wefings clone in 2015 for $10,279 with tax. It’s now in the shop getting new torsion axles. The owner estimates replacement cost today of about $17,000 but it’s worth it to be able to trailer and cruise nationwide. Marc Grove’s price beat everyone else by over $1,500. My rating is for 12,000 lbs load on the 2,000 lb trailer. Over the past ten years when in Heavy Cruise Mode (under ¼ gas) scale weight has been 11,060 lbs +/- 40 lbs. This is pretty close to capacity, but 7,000lb axles x2 and 3500 lb cap tires x4 are standard not custom. Avoid putting 900 lbs of gas and 230 lbs of water in the boat when trailering.

Wefings Marine, 131 US Hwy 98, Eastpoint,j FL 32328. Agree pay any overage for Goodyear Endurance ST tires and spare.
Marc Grove 850 870 8100

Float On Model # is 1431-TXCBB, STOCK NO T9334

My serial # is 40YBF3120FF000163

The Float On factory is closer to you in Vero Beach, but didn’t sell direct, 772-569-4440. But perhaps you could buy it from Marc and pick it up at the factory.

Yer gonna need a bigger truck.

Hope this is useful,

John
