Yes I feel a bit silly, but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to convert the port side table to a sleeping area.

Are there instructions, and or diagrams anywhere? I know that it is not convertible on all years -does the 2009 22 Cruiser qualify?

Thanks in advance.

Murthog,
The table with leg removed or folded, rest between the two seat. The backs on the two seats, gets put on the table to make a leave bunk.

I have owned a 1993 and 2006 C Dory22 and both had the table which dropped down in the middle and make the bunk, as Steve noted. I would see no reason that the 2009 would be an exception.

Depends on the bracket style holding the table to the bulkhead. Some are 'L' shaped that simply lift out allowing the table to be lowered to the seat level. The table on my 99 TC24 was 'hinged' to the bulkhead at some point in its past...so I need to replace those if I want to use the table as a bunk. Search my previous posts...I had an earlier string about the same thing and a couple of people posted pictures.

On my '08, the table is attached to the sidewall with split hinges and has two different posts. There is a threaded knob that holds the table in place on the side wall.

To change it from table to bed, you start by unscrewing the knob. The table is now free to move a bit. Remove the post. Then slide the table aft a bit to release it from the hinges. Put the short post in place under the table and place the table across the gap between the dinette seats. Basically, the table is just moved to a lower position, the orientation does not change. It is important to use the short post, the table/berth will not support much weight without it.

ssobol: mine is the same setup. Does it make rather a short bed?

I don't see what fills the space where the port side passenger has their legs when sitting.

The table top spans the gap between the fore and aft seats. If you have the barber chair setup, the forward seat has to be in the forward position (person facing aft).

The converted dinette is actually longer than the v-berth and is not tapered. Problem with sleeping on the converted dinette is that if you get waked while sleeping there you could end up on the floor.

Murthog,
Do you have the forward facing port passenger seat? If so, you have to slide the seat forward on its track and lock in place. Your table must be hinged, so bring up the part that is hinged down and lock in place. You probably have some sort of slide support underneath that supports it in a flat, full table configuration. Now just follow the directions from SSOBOL and you should have a bed of about 6' in length or so.

It would be helpful if we could see pictures of your cabin. If you don't have a photo album you could ask for one from Tyboo or Danag, our C-Brat Web Owners.
