Here is a link to the website for Race to Alaska which starts this next week!
Race to Alaska
I get carried away with the race, and usually get up several times at night to check the tracker and cheer for my favorite team.
Harvey usually is on the safety committee, but I haven't seen any posts from him recently....
Sailing Arnachy has a good thread for some behind the scenes comments by very knowable folks. _________________ Bob Austin

Some of us were a little disappointed in this year's rules change that allows boats (if they meet certain requirements) to choose to go outside (west) of Vancouver Island. I think that change could significantly effect the character of the race. Interestingly, even though five boats were cleared to take the outside route, no boat chose to go that way. 40 knot winds across the open North Pacific may have influenced the decisions to take an inside route! |
