$29,600 with optional items listed at bottom.

It is time for us to move on after 9 years and 122 nights aboard, and to prep for a larger liveaboard phase of life beginning in the next 15 months. Aven outgrew the boat at about 14, making it pretty cramped for 3, and we have not had the boat out more than a handful of times over the last three years.

This 2003 C-Dory 19 Angler started life as R-Matey after initial purchase in April 2003 from EQ Marine on Whidbey Island with a Honda 75HP main engine. That lovely couple (who many of you know) kept the boat simple and super clean and enjoyed her until late 2009 when she was sold to the second owner in Pierce County. The story says she spent a year locally, then was based in Alaska for another year of fishing (might have been just a season), then went to the third owner on Vashon Island who only used in twice in 3 years to set and pull crab pots. It did too much sitting around in a carport due to not enough free time, and when we bought it in Jan 2014, it had a few changes and needed some cleanup. We cleaned and revised a few changes then started making a bunch more to suit our small family cruising plans. We have always kept the boat in a covered boat shed with heat and dehumidifier, and provided lots of love and care until the last three years when life just moved us too much in other directions with a growing teenager, and poor Ari had to collect some cobwebs.

To ready the boat for sale, we removed the big custom canvas we used for comfort cruising, because it was not aging very well, and was not suitable for continued use. We kept the framework and used new stainless hardware and butyl tape to cap the old snap holes so it is ready for either a new canvas camper or slant-back setup or further revisions. We will include a new taylor made Anchor shade square boat umbrella (light grey) to shade/cover the cockpit and its already rigged to attach easily and fits under the top rack. The top rack is a separate structure and so useful for carrying stuff, we left that in place.

There are many pictures in our album for the boat that can add details to many of the changes we made over time, so that is a good source of info if you want to take a look into more history.

The boat is a 2003 model and has a 2017 Suzuki 90 HP engine installed in March of 2018 by Sportcraft Marine in Portland, and currently has 186 hours on it and is still under the factory warranty for another year. It runs great and pushes the boat much better than the original 75HP unit. Comes with an extra prop and wrench, and has a permatrim mounted. The engine had a full shop service including impeller change back in April of 2022 and has only been run about 6 hours since. It has an electronic gauge cluster with fuel flow, trim, and all regular data on configurable screens. The old analog (redundant) trim gauge does not current work, and I intended to replace it with something else like a nice clock, but never got around to that project after the engine upgrade.

The exterior features a unique rack built by a local fabricator and is suitable for carrying an inflatable dinghy or could easily be fitted with rack components for carrying kayaks or other loads. I probably wouldn't put more than 100ish pounds up there just for the sake of boat stability. We did trailer with a dinghy on top and it was stable at speed.

The rear bulkhead is one-of-a-kind fiberglass/wood built by the first owner and documented in the R-Matey album on the C-brats site. It has two lockable doors that are split into lower and upper sections and can be used independently. This structure is watertight and very nice to have on a 19 angler that usually features only a canvas rear curtain.

In the cockpit, there is a drop in rubber grid floor on top of a nonskid painted surface and there are two coolers with pads for seating that could easily be removed along with a simple folding table that is rail mounted. The boat includes two padded folding seats that mount to the bulkhead walls on each side of the door which might be a better setup for fishing, but we never used them. The two-step boarding ladder is also removeable but nice for dock access. There is a swim step on the stern with folding ladder included for water egress. There is a newer automatic bilge pump with float switch in the rear, and the boat comes with a new spare pump as well. The starting battery is located in that space between the fuel tanks and was replaced in the last two years.

Trim tabs were installed sometime after 2011, and are Lenco electrics and work very well. Windshield wipers are switched at the helm with passenger side also featuring a momentary switch for independent control. Interior and anchor lights are LED. there is a smoke/CO2 detector on the back wall, and two extinguishers inside the cabin.

There is a simple kicker motor bracket mounted to the transom that we used for an electric or 2.5hp gas backup, and is rated for 75lbs.

Rear storage hatches were replaced by us with non-leaking models and the starboard side is an electrical cabinet with some extra room, while the port side is empty and ready for your stuff.

There are two Solar panels mounted to the roof with 3M tape and wired to a small controller for charging the house batteries. Also up there is a Garmin XHD Radar unit connected to the GPSMap741xs at the helm. Vision charts for USA and BC are included on that unit.

On the bow is a 4KG Rocna Anchor with about 50ft of chain and braided rode out to 200ft if memory serves. Opening Portlights were added to this boat and feature screens to leave open at night and were a huge ventilation improvement for overnighting. Also fitted is a mounted pad for MinnKota electric trolling motor and wiring in the anchor locker for power.

On the inside, we added a Wallas 1300 heater with remote power switch in the berth, and that unit heats the boat in no time and is temperature controlled by cracking windows. Always run with Kleenheat fuel and it makes the boat much drier and comfortable in our climate. Extra fuel included.

The berth is lined with a felt like fabric that makes the space more comfortable, and all of the lower boat interior is painted with acoustic barrier paint for reduced water noise (as is the engine cowl). The cushions are all in good shape with an extra foam topper also included for extra cush if you want it. The space under the berth was converted into storage and features three large hatches to access three separate sections, which are also home to two group 24 AGM house batteries that are about 5 years old.

The Radio mounted to the upper shelf is a GPS enabled Standard Horizon and works well with folding 3ft whip on the roof rack. The house bank is monitored by a Victron battery monitor and the electrical system is charged with engine power through a smart combiner, (no switching needed), solar panels, or by a shore power connection in the cockpit with 10amp onboard charger (50ft cable included). The engine and bilge pump are on the rear battery, and everything else is powered by the house set in front under the berth.

The interior floor is covered with a two-layer rubber/carpet mat for comfort and so are the foot wells in front of the seats. The seats were replaced with upgraded factory SeaSport versions for more comfort and are still in great shape.

The trailer is a 2014 heavy single axle galvanized king 3700 model with a new stainless surge brake system installed about 3 years ago and comes with spare tire. Tires were replaced once already due to age.

A few items are optional with this boat, but are included in the total price, so subtract them if you don't want them with the boat. We will keep them and put them to use if they are not wanted.

MinnKota Riptide saltwater 55lb thrust trolling motor with GPS and wireless remote control $800

Suzuki 2.5HP outboard that runs well with recent oil/impeller service $500

Engel MD14 liter 12v fridge/freezer (fits under helm seat and wired for power there) $300

Greg, Cindie and Aven,

Oh, what wonderful memories we have of this 19 C-Dory and we know that you have had some great experiences with her, too. Someone is going to get an awesome vessel.

The best to you and your family as you enter this next chapter of your life.

Best always,
Ruth and Joe

The boat was sold towed away by Dave from Tacoma who is on the site already and plans to keep the boat named the same. So when you see Ari out fishing the sound, say hi to Dave! Great guy and good addition to the Cbrats crowd.
