We picked up our new trailer this week- finished three weeks ahead of schedule. The construction details look very good to me, well thought out and clean. It's a lot longer and wider than the old EZ Loader which was a 4,700# capacity and this is 6,000#. We weigh 4,700# fully packed for cruising so wanted a bigger margin of safety. I'm curious what other trailers are for length and width. This one is 27' to the ball and 102" outside of tires, as opposed to 24' and 96". Tandem torsion, spare tire, EOH, an four post guides. The builder said they can shorten it some but I'm unclear as to how or if I should. I put some photos up.

That is a very nice trailer for a 22. I have seen this size used for 25's. Realistically they are too small for the 26, With the electric over Hydraulic brakes, and the tongue / rail configuration, I would not attempt to shorten the front end--and realistically although you could lob a little off the back, I would not do it, because the axles would have to be moved etc.
I would visit the position of the main bunks. I might put another set about half way inboard to give better support. Also the front bunks are "target bunks" which traditionally do not take load when trailering but do help with alignment and support during loading. The boat should be 1/2 to 2" above the target bunks. (depending on how the boat looks when loading. _________________ Bob Austin

Thanks Bob, I'll look at adding a couple of bunks. It seems like the added length won't hurt running down the highway but will take some getting used to in the parking lot...
Best,
