My venture 26 has a Wallace stove heater combo. I plan on using an inductive cooktop. How do you winterize the stove so it doesn't get plugged with dried diesel? _________________ 2018 C-Dory Venture 26. Suzuki DF200A,autopilot, solar, 412ahr of lithium. |

Wallas Stove.. We have never "winterized" a diesel or kerosene Wallas stove. The evaporation off diesel is minimal. I have purchased used Wallas stove which have not been used in several years, and had fuel in them, which was still fine. I did burn the fuel which was the tank in a land vehicle, and put in new fuel.
We cooked with induction burner for the last few years we owned the C Dory 25, and still cook with induction in our RV which has a propane stovetop. Especially in Florida where it can still be hot at dinner time, the lack of radiant heat in the cabin is a blessing. _________________ Bob Austin

I never winterize my Wallas, but I do put in fresh fuel every spring. Diesel does not really evaporate, but like all fuels it will degrade in time. I think you are better to have fuel in the line rather than air. _________________ Peter & Judy Haase

I think I will run it empty and pull it for now. No need for heat in Florida. |

I believe diesel also lubricates the inner workings. At least on my Webasto it says to run it 20 minutes every month during the off season. I would guess the wallas is the same way. I'd put some winter additives in some fresh diesel and store it with that in the tank. |

I would agree with Colby, don't store it dry and run it if possible. |

Since new, the technician told us to run the Wallas 85 DT once a month. It has been over 5 years since then and the unit has never had a problem. _________________ Gary F
