I know it's a long shot, but if someone sees this that is thinking of selling, please let me know. My budget is around 150k.

Hi Tim,
Great choice! Although they are built near you, availability is pretty rare on the west coast. There are a couple of listings in Portland.

Bill and Annie called us last year for information about a Tomcat on Vancouver Island. We gave them a detailed sales pitch for an hour, but someone placed a bid on it the same day and they missed out. If you find one, you will love it. It would be perfect for the San Juans.

That was me. I placed a full price offer within 5 minutes of it hitting the market. Turned out to be a very good boat. Good luck. Not too be Debbie Downer, but over the last 10 years that I've been considering the TomCat, only about 4 per year hit the open market.

Be patient but be ready. They are worth waiting for...

I don't have much experience with the hull yet but feel free to ask any questions. The Brats are very helpful!

Often good boats will sell in hours of the listing for sale in the current market. When I put the 25' "Thataway" for sale it was sold in 2 hours-with 3 back up offers in the next 24 hours. That is unusual, but happens.

Also be ready to travel (and I do really recommend seeing and taking the sea trial in person, not just have a surveyor do the Sea Trial. Yes, it may be the cost of an airplane ride. But then there are no surprises when the boat arrives.

Thanks for all the helpful information everyone! I have no problem traveling to see a boat, my last boat I purchased on the opposite end of the USA and that worked out great!

That said, I'de love to be lucky enough find one somewhere in the PNW if possible. With them typically selling so quickly, I just need to sort out the best ways to get notified for when they come to market so I can be one of those early offers!

There a fair number of boats which are purchased, which never make the open forum here. I probably tend to hear more about them than the average, because of questions asked or issues which folks want to keep off the forum.

These boats tend to not be advertised on C Brats, but are on Craig's List, Facebook market place, Boat Trader, Yacht World, local rags, or even just parked along the highway with a "for sale" sign. There are estate sales, where the spouse or executor has no idea that C Brats exits.

Look at all of these resources daily.

We are thinking of selling our 2007 255 Tomcat. We are the original owners. lift kept, no bottom paint, RV AC unit, wallas stove, refrig, water heater, windlas, repowered last year with twin honda 150s, raymarine radar, huge custom aluminum aft cover. We used it as a family cruiser and now are not using that much since kids moved out.
