We spent Oct 3 - 7 at Lake Powell. The lake is 85 feet lower than when we were there in Oct 2019, but it is still a big lake - over 100 miles long and over 300' deep in the channel. We launched at the new State Line Auxiliary launch ramp as the other ramps are out of the water. We spent the first night in the Wahweap Marina. The shortcut between Wahweap and Warm Creek bays is closed due to the low water level so we had to take the narrow, long way around which can be rough due to boat traffic, but was not too bad for this trip. We spent the first night in Kane Wash and the second night in Rock Creek Bay. Outside of the main channel we slowed down, set the autopilot, monitored the depth sounder display and watched the scenery slide by. We spent the last night in the Antelope Point Marina. We were amazed by the number of very large houseboats. Photos are in C-View's photo album.

Great to hear that Stateline has an alternate ramp! My cousins work the Nat Recreation "Trash picker " house boat in Sept. The found some interesting "Junk" on the river, and took photos, of the water level where they had worked before.

I have never heard of the Lake Powell State Line Auxiliary Boat Ramp, but here is a web page on it. I would love to hear additional information from folks that have used it!

The park didn't know about it either until it came out of the water when the lake went low enough. Then they extended it.

For years there were two usable ramps in southern Lake Powell (nearest Page, AZ) - Wahweap ramp (closest to the marina) and the Stateline Ramp. As the water went down, those ramps became unusable. A legacy ramp that was used when the lake was first formed and the water was rising was revealed. This is the ramp Jody is referring to. It was not in good shape, but was used for a while. A construction project was started to build the Stateline Auxiliary Ramp. You drive down the Stateline Ramp and take a gravel road to the right which leads to a gravel parking lot and then the new Stateline Auxiliary Ramp. When the lake was the lowest, the concrete ramp was built down to the water line. For a while, metal mats were used to make the ramp usable. The water came back up so that the new Stateline Auxiliary Ramp's concrete surface became usable. When we were there in early October the ramp was in excellent shape and launching was easy. Of course, the water may go down again exposing the end of the concrete.
