I don't think my trim tabs are working. I purchased this 2007 22 Cruiser a couple of months ago and have been working my way through a variety of small issues. Trim tabs are next. When I press the rocker switches up or down nothing happens. I have no paperwork or manuals. How do these things work? Where do I begin troubleshooting? I've spotted a couple of inline fuses but have not opened them up.

It sounds like you are on the right track. I would see if there is electrical to the switch first, then follow that by seeing if the power goes past the switch, if not then possibly a bad switch (rocker). Continue to follow the power down to the pump. If you have power to the pump then possibly the pump is frozen. Just eliminate possible causes as you continue to trouble shoot.

There's a pump somewhere? Back under the engine behind the fuel tanks?

No, not if they are electric trim tabs.... Very Happy

Note that on my 22, the hydraulic trim tabs don't work unless the key is in the ignition and turned part way on.

If they are hydraulic, there will be a hydraulic oil reservoir, most likely in the stern somewhere. On my 22, they were electric. It's not unusual for the electric ones to eventually corrode and burn out if they get water in them. (I had that happen on mine). But would be more likely to only happen on one or the other, rather than both. If neither are working, and they are electric, I would bet more on a fuse. If hydraulic, could be a fuse, or the pump. I would definitely check any fuses in the circuit. Enjoyed meeting you out at Tenney Park. C-Traveler is all put away for the winter now. I have hydraulic tabs on it. I think I like them better than the electric... Colby
