|
|
After hitting my head one too many times I realized I needed a better, less painful way to enter & exit the V-Berth (which I do most often to mess with the anchor or tie off the anchor cleat).
A few C-Dory interior images show a pad around the entryway. I assume those are custom fabrication? Can anyone point to a pattern?
FWIW I performed several site searches, but my search terms did not bring up anything resembling what I'm looking for... |

If like me, probably a few more times of smacking your noggin, maybe even drawing a little blood should do the trick and condition you to duck a little more when diving in and out of the V berth. _________________ Steve & Joanie

A brightly colored swimming pool noodle pressed into the top of the opening should work. _________________ Gary F

I don't believe that's padding—it's just the top portion of the V-berth privacy canvas. |

I guess growing up on boats with sitting headroom, I have never had a problem, except probably destroying. few brain cells before I was 11 years of age, and stopped hitting my head hard (hard being the watch word) on limited headroom boats.
I probably would put the 1/2" water pipe grey insulation over the edges and be done with it. I have never seen a factory or self made foam material to go around the door into the "V" berth. One partial solution is to remove the passenger side bulkhead--no structural component there. That opens up the v berth area--but then you do loose the "privacy" of the party potty area (No. on in our family seems to care to much about privacy issues after many years of marriage. _________________ Bob Austin

I purchased some half inch closed cell foam with a self adhesive backing off of ebay and stuck it in places where I bumped my head in the v-birth. It has saved a few headaches _________________ Doug & Susan |
