"Looks like somebody forgot to spray for C-Dory's"
This may be the best quote of the year!
Thanks, Roger!!!!

Several people at Lopez asked me where I purchased the three drawer shelve units I installed under the wallas heater on Work Release.
Here is the info:
Rev-A-Shelf Three Drawer Sliding Baskets from Ovis Online.
Hope this helps,

WOW,
What a weekend it was!!
We were the last C-Dory to leave Lopez this morning.
Thanks to those who made this such a great gathering!
Nancy send her thanks for the surprise birthday party on Sunday.
The Nancy H is now safely tucked away in her new home at Twin Bridges Marina and we are at home in the woods again.
PS: The manager at Twin Bridges said their wind meter recorded 40 knots on Sunday! Some folks who left on Sunday came back to Lopez after experiencing 'very lumpy water' outside of Cattle Pass. Today was flat water with light wind, and it was a really nice ride home. _________________ Larry H

It sure sounds like you had a great one! Did you get a count of how many boats were officially there?
I did something different with the signup list for this one. It looks like a record event signup with 39 entries, so instead of deleting it I renamed it to SIGNUP RECORD - Lopez Is. 2006, closed it, and left it on the Event Signup list. When some other CBGT beats it, it will be replaced. That gives those east coasters something to shoot at. The last SBS may have had more signups - I don't recall - but we'll keep this little prize for floating CBGTs. To qualify for the record prize, the list must be pretty accurate with the actual attendee count so padding for the prize will not work. As always, see B~C for the prize.
Glad you all enjoyed it so. Isn't the weather typically a little rough for the return after the Lopez Opening CBGT? It seems you've talked about it before. _________________ TyBoo Mike

Congratulations to the Lopez gathering...a new record.
The Lankford gathering is at 34...the rumor is that there is a "mystery fleet" of about 6 hovering somewhere on June 1...so, 34 + = ?
We'll let you know.

So, is everyone else getting a "parse error on line 66" when they try to view Photos? I have PM'd Da Nag, anxious to see the Lopez album! _________________

Tom, I think you guys will steal the record from us at Lankford...if I am not mistaken, the count of boats that actually showed up at Lopez was 33, several no shows and three who were fairly nearby - do we get partial points for those guys who were close, you know, like in horseshoes?

What a great gathering. CAVU arrived back home in Spokane last night. If I had known the winds would get that bad I might have stayed at Lopez another night. We left Sunday at 1000 right behind Daydream. After rounding the north end of Lopez be cut down through Thather Pass and hit the big waves crossing the short section of Rosario. Went down through Swinomish Channel and stopped at La Conner for lunch. Spent the night at the State Park dock and loaded up the next morning and headed for home.
Big Thanks to the Brews Brothers for two excellent beers and everyone else for a great potluck. This was Jane's first cruise and she enjoyed it in spite of the weather. Count us in next year for sure. Ken and Jane. _________________ Ken Trease

We left about 9:15 a.m. Monday and had a great run back across to Cornet via Fidalgo Bay. Dave and Roberta as well as Laurie and I had a great, exhausting time with everyone! It's too bad that some of the others that were on the water couldn't have seen their way to at least show up at Lopez.

We left Monday about 0900 after trying Cattle Pass on Sunday. The Tomcat could take it but we couldn't. So, we turned back to Lopez Isalnd Marina. On Monday we headed north around Lopez then south to Lopez pass. We crossed over close to deception pass then headed south along Whidbey Is. Jeannie and I encountered 1-3 ft waves from there to Point Wilson except along the south end of double bluff where they grew to 4 ft +. Jeannie says no more than 1-3 ft waves in the future!
We had a great time and enjoyed meeting new and old friends.
Maybe I should change my name to Diving Steve _________________ Steve

Wow, you all should have headed to Bellingham then! I really don't think at any point we were in greater than 2 footers, really nothing to write home about, and in Bellingham Bay we were surfing the following seas, running 20+ mph on their back sides! |

Diving Steve,
I am glad to hear that your run back went well.
We left the marina about 12:45 and ran 20-21 knots in flat to 1 ft around the north end of Lopez and thru Thatcher. Slowed to about 15 across Rosario in 1-2 ft , and back up to 20 to Twin Bridges.
Waiting an extra day was worth it for us. |

We on the Chesapeake do have our bad days...but that is usually a wind of about 20 and a two to three foot chop..but that is not so common.
So, when I read about the conditions you guys take as "normal" i do think we should spot you a few points on the record...
Today i was out...wind sw at 7, almost flat calm, 74 degrees F. ...my kind of weather.
