So my new Honda 90 is on my boat!
But it’s still in the shop.
What’s the consensus as to the best prop?
As a reminder, it’s a CD22. |

This aluminum $120 prop (Turning Point Hustler 4 Blade 13.5x 15) delivers 24Kts /6200 RPM at WOT on our 22 Cruiser/BF90 lightly loaded. And 15Kts/ 4.500 RPM 4 blade props have better reverse thrust, more lift/better hole shot than 3 blade screws, generally a 3 blade will have a bit more top end speed. _________________ 2021 CD 22 Cruiser Sandy Bottom - Present

We have run the 13.5 x 15 on all of our 22'2 at sea level. We have gone as low as 13.75 x 11 at Lake Powell (about 3700 feet when full). with a loaded boat. We will see very close to 30 mph with a light boat--and as low as 18 mph with a heavy loaded boat. We do recommend that all boats have both trim tabs and Permatrim foil installed to get the best handling, especially going int chop. _________________ Bob Austin

Bob, would you say the 13.5 x 15 prop is good option for the same Honda 90's in a twin configuration on a TC that is typically run without a heavy load? |

On our TC24 with Suzuki 90's we run that prop in a 4 blade stainless, 13.5X15

You might want to check about the gearing of the Suzuki 90's vs the Honda 90's. We had Suzuki 150's with 4 blade 21" pitch on the TC 255--but that is a lot of different parameters.
Suzuki appears to be 2.59/1, Honda is 2.33/1--that may make an inch difference in pitch... |
