Whats the highest number of C-Dory's anyones had? I just can't stay away. Keep coming back to brand and just how much they offer. Yes they have limits, yes they aren't for everyone but say,
In a 22' package, where can you find a place to go pee, make a cup of coffee, catch a fish, stay warm, catch a nap, all in an economical package? |

I have had 5. First 22 was kept in CA /Las Vegas, first 25 replaced that 22 and also kept in CA/ Las Vegas. Wife and kids didn't want me doing solo's. Tom Cat in Pensacola (home base), sold after second heart surgery Then 22 in Pensacola--realized we were using enough so upgraded to 25. Sold when we realized we just could not keep it up--loading became difficult at age 85 1/2 years old because of heart and back disease. NOW if a 16 or 19 were to appear near by, I might sneak out and buy it... Still have the Caracal 18' catamaran, for the bays, go to lunch, fishing etc. _________________ Bob Austin

Ok, so having five wouldn't be the record. Good. I knew someone else had a run. Just made an offer on another 22'. Super excited now my beach house is going to have a comfortable crabbing boat! Can't wait to start pulling them in! |

I went from a 22 to a 25 last year at the age of 61. If I can enjoy it until I'm 85, I will consider it a very good run! |

Well this makes me feel good. I am just one better than none. Bought my first C-Dory 22 Cruiser 16 years ago. Got a good vaccination against the 2 or 3 foot itis, and have been very happy with one C-Dory. Had multiple boats prior, still have some but the sailboat is gone (after 4 years) and the paddle craft have not been in the water in about 10 years. I hope and pray to be boating for several more years, and I am VERY satisfied with my investment in sanity.
Harvey

This topic is interesting as to how many people have bought and sold C-Dorys.
We got Journey On 17 years ago, it suited our purpose then and does now, so why change?
We had a sailboat and when it became apparent that we weren't going to do any more long distance cruising, we sold it. Then, we started looking for our next boat.
Two requirements that drove the purchase were a boat that is trailerable and a separate head. There were several that met our requirements, C-Dory, Skgit/Orca, etc, but Judy picked the C-Dory 25.
We got the boat in 2005 and promptly started a new method of cruising: trailering and cruising in the summer. We've been to the Great Lakes, San Juan and the Gulf Islands, the Columbia and Mississippi Rivers, San Francisco, etc. All with the same boat. And we still have it, going into a local marina this summer. Of course, we're getting older and slower, but still love being on the water.
So, if it worked then, why change?

One C-Dory 22 Angler, our first boat, that we've had for a couple years. And we're already looking for a 25 or 26!

I like that too.
The font that "SleepyC" is done in on the boat is Encore. Chosen for 2 reasons. It is large easily readable with no sharp points or fine lines
AND
It came after the other boats, with no intention of doing any more.

We've had four.
1984 Classic 22'
2003 TomCat 24'
2006 22' Angler
2006 TomCat 255
Continuous owners for more than 30 years. We had a 22' Angler and a TomCat 255 at the same time. _________________
