Well, we signed the paperwork and wrote the check for our 2006 CD 22 today! 'Very Happy' No name yet and it's still at Cutter getting rigged the rest of the way and then detailed. We went for our sea trial this morning in 40 degree weather and a bit of wind and determined that it really does live up to the hype from all you owners!

We look forward to having it in the water soon. We'll run it out of Cutter this spring, then take it up to MA in June. I'm dreaming about seeing it from my kitchen on the mooring this summer, taking it out for sundowners, overnights and day trips . . .

Thanks to all posters for providing great info and inspiration. You really sell these boats!

Thanks, Mike. I looked at your photo albums and noticed you have some young fisherpersons -- are they your daughters? We have an 8 year old and while we don't really fish I think she's going to love cruising around and jumping in the water.

nscogin/Norma: Congratulations!!!! You will for sure love your boat as will your family. I sat on my 1st CD-22 Cruiser there at Cutter. Will be working up that way March thru Jun06. I plan to have some type of "just meet the folks in the NE gathering" prior to really getting busy with plant season up there just to get to know more of our NE C-Dory loving folks. I'll get my nephew to ship us up some good ol slow smoked BBQ, ribs, & beef brisket like we enjoyed at the Blakey Island 05 gathering.

See yall soon....and may need to fly back home to get my truck and tow the C-Byrd up that way too....

Norma --
Congrats on the new kid in the family! Hope you can bring the young 'un (including your kids) to the Chesapeake Gathering -- and those New England C-Dory folks have there own social times -- like Erie Canal and Lake Champlain.
Does your sign-on name have anything to do with days spent on a wonderful river in Maine? Once again, you have made a big decision and we think it will be a fine addition to your family.

Congratulations Norma, You are going to have a ball this summer. Getting the boat is just the first part of the fun (but a necessary one) second part is starting to customize it to your needs.

El and Bill--

My sign on name is just my first initial and last name. What river are you referring to?

By the way, your names came up when we were signing the paperwork with Ruthie at Cutter yesterday. She mentioned that a couple that lives on their boat was at the Chesapeake gethering last year. Of course I knew of you from this site! We're hoping to make Chesapeake this year. I'm calling Monday about a slip.

Norma,

Welcome aboard. I see you are from Buzzards Bay. I am from Hingham and Nantucket, and in fact will be in Pocassett on Bunker Hill Day in June, then off to Narriganset Bay via Cuttyhunk.

Us C-Brats from New England also go to Y-Landing Marina in New Hampshire in May. We are very active.

Come and join us.

We were thinking of the Androscoggin River in Maine -- one of our favorite streams in the northeast.

I'll have to check out the Androscoggin River. Don't know of any connection but there's probably something back there in the British Isles somewhere. My family is all from the South.

Thanks, Fred & Sheila. I would love to chat with you at some point about cruising Buzzards Bay/Cape Cod Bay. We'll have the boat moored at our house on Great Neck in Wareham on the Onset side. We've sailed our cat boat around the small bay there and on the Wareham River, but we plan to venture out a lot more in the CD. We're definitely interested in getting over to Cuttyhunk/Falmouth/Woods Hole and around to visit family in Duxbury and Manomet. Would love to here your suggestions.

We won't make it to NH in May, but maybe another time. If nothing else maybe we could rendevous with you all at some point.

Norma - congrats on your 22 ft. cruiser. Few 22 ft of anything can match a C-Dory for both form and function. Salty and saucy looking too! Fun times ahead.

John
