Battery charging

As a start, I would plug in to shore power, get out your trusty Volt meter and read the voltage at your battery terminals on all settings of your battery switch. Then you can go down the rabbit hole noted.

If the voltage is above 12.6, they are getting a charge unless you have a 24V system.
