What year did the 22' Cruiser begin to have a center window that opens out? |

I believe than any of the boats after 1987 could have a center window installed. I am not sure about those before the change to the hull, but theoretically the window could be installed. In earlier boats the opening window as an option.
The mechanism (struts) to hold the window open, have varied-and some are better than others. _________________ Bob Austin

Our year 2000 CD22 didn’t originally have a center opening window. We had one installed at the Kent, Washington C-Dory Factory in 2003 on the way home from our 1st Alaska & Yukon River cruise.

That opening front window only cost about $350 in 2003, but in 2004 cost an additional $4000, when left open during our Ford’s Terror inlet entry mishap in water damage to cameras, notebook computer ect. One needs to consider when to have it open or closed. I imagine the cost to install would be considerably more than $350 now, as in 2016, the front port side window was broken in the Yukon on the road trip to Skagway, Alaska, when replaced with auto safety glass in Juneau it cost $500.

For my 1996 22 Cruiser, I called C Dory. They gave me the part number CD22CI in almond cream. They told me the supplier was Diamond Sea glaze. The quote from them was around $1,100 plus shipping. If you have your hull number, C Dory will give you the exact part number for your boat. |
