Has anyone found some sort of rain deflector/shield that will work on C-22 sliding side windows? We would really like to have a passive ventilation solution. We are moving the boat to SE Alaska next year. We have spent many summers there without this boat, and, to keep it short, ventilation is essential
Possibilities that would not work for us:
1) Open the hatch. Tried that. Even 1/2" gets rain on the sleeping bags.
2) Opening center window. We have a fixed window. Opening windows hinge at top. Still much splash at bottom.
3) Drop half, (vertical slider) center window. Looks like a solution, except quote is around $1000 from Diamond Sea Glaze.
What I would really like to find is some sort of Lexan fairings that allow us to keep the sliders open an inch or so in the rain. This is all we need. But, current sliders let in a lot of rain, even when only open 1/2".
Any help is appreciated.

How about an opening center window mounted upside down? Tilts outward at the top and the brow would minimize rain/splash intake.

Make a rain fly that goes from the brow to the front rail. There are a few examples on this site of people who have done this for sun protection, but it would work for rain too. It would allow the hatch and/or the front window to be open.
Get RV vents or fans that go in the roof. You can get solar powered ones or ones you could hook up the electrical system. Some people have these on their boats to vent the head or the composting toilet. There are many type and tyles available. |

Thanks for all the ideas. I am going to aim to make my own like Blue~C has. Don Casey has a good section on heating and bending Lexan in "This Old Boat."
A sliding window in the door would help, but I still need an opening up front for "flow through." |
