Some one at the Friday harbor gathering showed me how they used motorcycle handle bar riser to make a rack for thier dinghy. Anyone know who that was?

Hey Tom
I think that was me. This is about like the one that I used.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/234078919655?hash=item368030dbe7:g:BswAAOSwMHpg5GVd

Have been using them for about 5 years and no problems.

What did you do for the connection for the cross piece on top of the extensions? Do you have a picture?

I got some SS Allen head bolts that are longer than what comes with the riser from McMaster Carr. I used CVG Fir 2x2 and counter sunk them so the bolt and nut would not protrude. I even drilled some drain holes so that water would not collect in the countersunk holes. I painted the wood with Petit Easy Poxy 3108 Off White. It is a good match for C-Dory White. They have held up well, but the front one could use a little touch up paint after 5 or 6 years of use.

I put some photos in our album if you want to look. Album is not very organized. You will find them at the very end of the album.

Doug, hope you don't mind if I put one of those pix here.

You have some really nice craftsman work in your boat. Wish I had that talent.
