Please forgive me if this has been addressed in the past, but I’m keen to know what other C-Dory owners have done about air conditioning on their boat. I had a 22-Cruiser with a large rooftop RV unit. It was ugly, too big, too strong, and I couldn’t run it off a 2000 generator. No-one seems to make a small, low-profile, “not strong” roof AC unit. Or am I wrong? Or maybe there’s another AC solution that doesn’t take up cabin space? [The mini “Arctic” units don’t cut it for me.] Comments welcome, and thank you in advance. Michael. |

On my 22, I went with the 9000 btu low profile A/C (47201B876) with the optional heat strip. The Honda generator was never overloaded. The Micro-Air EasyStart , will make a world of difference in start up load on the gen set. _________________ Steve Baum

5000 BTU window AC unit stuck in the front center window. Honda EU1000 on the swim step to power it when shore power is not available. Job done. |

I have used both the 5000 BTU window unit of a 22 and the current 25. I also had the Polar Cub 9200 BTU unit in a Tom Cat 255. The Easy Start, by Micro air should allow running on eco mode with the 2000 or 2200 Honda generator.
There are a number of threads on this--but the above summary is the summary of it. _________________ Bob Austin

I have just installed Air conditioning (A/C) in "Saint Somewhere". The installation is detailed here
http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t=29858
I have pics in my album.
It cools the CD22 very well, runs on my EU2000 easily (I know, there have been several that say it will run on an EU1000. That may be, but I already own an EU2000...) It is actually less intrusive in the cockpit area than I thought it would be, and cost much less. About $200 for the A/C, some elbow grease and plywood to install it in the starboard rear window. _________________ CD 22 “Saint Somewhere” 2020 - Present
