I want to install a baystar hydraulic steering in my 22 with 90 hp Honda. Then install a basic auto pilot down the road. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks mike. |

Mike,
If it was my boat and my $$$, I'd spend the extra and buy the Sea Star system. It is night and day, in comparison to the effort it takes to move the steering wheel between the two. I had a Bay Star on my Rigid Hull Inflatable and wish I had spent the extra $$$ in the first place. I can move my steering wheel on my past 22 and my current 26 with my fingers. To move the wheel on my RHI and my friends 22 (with the Bay Star), takes the effort of my hand.
Now, this may not seem like a big deal and the effort of the Bay Star is less then an old push pull cable steering, but if you put a lot of miles on your boat like I do, it makes a huge difference, as it is one more item of reducing fatigue. _________________ Steve Baum
