I don't thing so. Registration is required, but it is easy to do -- not like applying for your CCL -- and apparently even some rowbuts can do it.
Only one forum that unregistered viewers cannot access, so it bears watching what you put where.
Mike and Will (Tyboo and DaNag) are pretty good about keeping a clean house here. I have PM them when I have seen obvious Spam, hack or whatever. Not sure if that is an extra bother to them or a help.

I don't know how or am not able to go back and look at the registry of use (history I guess) but for just now it is this:
In total there are 54 users online :: 3 Registered, 0 Hidden and 51 Guests
That is pretty common, percentage wise, to what I remember seeing when I check. We have considerably more guests that come on board than registered users. Any one can check in, it is only required to register IF:
1. You want to post in a thread
or
2. You want to read in the Quote: | "That's Life" forum; A place for friends and family. This Forum is open to registered C-Brats Online members only, and is invisible to anyone not logged on |

Nope - guests cannot post here. They become guests after they are booted out and if we don't find and delete all their posts they stay and appear to have been posted by a guest.
That is what happened today. Will (Da Nag) was on his way out the door when he saw some spam posts so he deleted the ones he saw and removed the user account. But this guy was prolific and posted a dozen or more times before he got zapped. We found (I think) the rest of his posts and deleted them too.
Every once in a while someone will ask to be removed from the C-Brat group, usually after a boat sale, and we oblige them but leave their previous posts. Those will also look to have been posted by a guest, too.
Carry on. And thanks to all you non spammers for being here! _________________ TyBoo Mike

Mike, Do you two have a preference of what we can do to help here? As in PM you and with what info, or do you have a magic finder and prefer us to not clutter your PM list? PM to ADMIN or to each individually.

Hah! I deleted them, but am still a long way from defeating them!

I appreciate the PMs - wait, having raised two girls by myself through their teen years I should say I appreciate the Private Messages - but there is no need to send them to cbadmin because we rarely check that. Just keep sending them to me because I miss a lot of the spam posts. Don't despair if I do not reply because I often get a lot of them, but know that it is appreciated.
The biggest help would be to not reply to or comment on a spam post in a good thread because those need to be deleted individually. In a thread started by a spammer - have a blast because the whole thing will go in the trash when we get to it. Just remember that by doing so you are giving them more air time, which is what they are after, but as long as nobody clicks their links they won't be making any money. Or, I may be wrong about that.

Those times when you see a lot of guests online it is likely that some or most of them are Google Bots or other search sites' robots crawling the web to update their search data. Sometimes Google can have scores of them. But yes, a good number of the guests are folks looking for info but not ready to jump in.
Thanks again for the help! |

Just kidding about being locked out, only happened once and it was cold and I only had on BVDs - had to pry open a window. Good thing no one called the police as I did not have any ID in my undies. Best way to insure that we stay clean as a fresh scrubbed teak deck?
