Does anyone have a default weatherstrip suggestion? Currently have some leakage in my lazarette.

If these are the top hatch on the 22, Here is a link to a different cover which does not leak

Yep, replace the hatches. First thing I did when I got my boat.
FWIW, new boats come with the hatches recommended in this thread. |

Chuck, If these are your current lazarettes, You do need to replace them. It is a pretty easy job and will make all the difference. It will be easy as doing weather strip and it WILL fix the problem.
That is one of the first things I did on my boat and even I could do it so it has to be easy.

I tried to pull that hatch on Finale to fix it leaking but it was stuck down with 5200 or something too strong. Only leaks when in bad weather and heavy spray, not rain.
Suggestions. _________________ '13 25' Cruiser "Finale"

It is not that hard to get the hatches out even when stuck on with 5200. Just takes a heat gun, a single edge razor blade, some solvent, and patience. The last one is most important. |

I have used piano wire or guitar strings pulled back and forth with anti bond to loose 5200 attached objects. It is unlikely that C Dory used 5200 on the hatch--probably the same sealant used which was a Bostec compound for many years. |

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like I'll have to give it a go again. The SO didn't like the dripping on to her head after crossing the Albemarle Sound with decent chop and crossing wind last week. |
