We have updated Raven’s original 2005 electronics standard and would like to find a new home for the units that we removed. Everything was working when removed, you can see the photos of the working systems on our Raven photos page under electronicssale.
Here is what we have:
Raymarine radar dome, 18”. $150, with cable
Raymarine C80 display. $200, includes external GPS antenna
Lowrance Elite 5X DSI echo sounder, with cable and transducer $100
Standard Horizon Quest VHF $25
Everything for $400
I am in seattle and could bring everything to Anacortes or Friday Harbor. I would rather not bring radar dome to Friday Harbor except for definite sale.
Photos of the units are on our Raven photos page _________________ Raven 1983 22’ Classic, 2009-2020

I have many of the same electronics on my 22' cruiser, which were probably installed by the same dealer back when our boats were new. I am considering replacing these electronics next year and I am wondering what you are installing instead? Almost all of the components that I have are Raymarine and I am hoping that some items are still compatible and will not have to do a 100% changeover when the time comes. What are you installing now? Thank you in advance for the comments. _________________ Peter & Judy Haase

Here is my thought process on the upgrade.
-the 2005 electronics were doing a completely adequate job with presenting all the information needed for safe navigation, everything working fine.
-I enjoy data technology and fiddling with the gear
-the two things i wanted to add in the upgrade were the shift to digital radar technology and AIS transmit and receive integrated with the displays and VHF.
—the choice for me was between the Garmin world and the SIMRAD/B&G/Lowrance ecosystem. I’ve used SIMRAD before and didn’t want to relearn menus, etc.
-So, we bought a 9” SIMRAD MFD, SIMRAD Halo radar and a B&G VHF with integrated AIS transmit/receive.
-the radar fit on the existing mast |

Thank you. I look forward to hearing how it all works for you in the real world, if you care to do that as some later date.
Enjoy the new toys. |

My old electronics die in the garbage can for the most part - not much value or market. |

Thanks for all the interest, I sold the lot as a package in a day. Lots of interest, I guess prices were too low. |

I am considering doing a RayMarine upgrade and just scanning the forums for some ideas. Had not thought of trying to sell the old ones. Good idea.
When it happens it will be:
RayMarine C-120
RayMarine (2KW - think) radar
RayMarine Sounder and transducer.
IF/When I decide for sure I will post the exact model info. All units are fully functional and have been serious trouble free. They are 2005 vintage, and It is time for updating to digital radar and sonar.

Hardee you should be able to get a good price for them, as a full replacement set would be 5k+. Just be careful disconnecting them as connectors seem to be the point of failure. |

Thank you for that. I will make sure to have decent connectors. I have all the Raymarine manuals for them and a DVD training disc for the radar.

No need to be concerned about having to learn Garmin's protocol. I've found that it is unlearnable. Don't touch anything and be happy if anything shows up on the screen.

That is funny. That is exactly the way I felt when I started with Raymarine. That chart plotter was like a big black hole in the universe. Anything I did there only made what was already there worse. I order to figure out the instruction manual, you had to be a computer programmer. My Garmin is SOOOOO intuitive, albeit fewer choice options.
