Attached, the Fuel Logs from the past four years of Inside Passage Cruising on the CD 22 - Tonie O. I had some time to put them in an Excel spreadsheet and thought I'd share since I get so much from this site! The 2005 trip had the most trolling hours and was the most leisurely while the 2004 trip was all about running from place to place.
I do pay attention to currents and tides but do not always use them to full advantage. I would say that 85% of what we do is at 4000 - 4500 RPMs at around 12 - 15 NMPH. We carry full water, dingy & motor, traps, line puller, downrigger, ice chest, plenty of stuff.
I have found that placing spare fuel forward while running saves fuel. As the tanks in back empty, the economy really goes up. Wieght distribution is a factor. These tables represent only the places that I bought gas. I am always able to hold 58 gallons but sometimes don't unless anticipating a long run. Trolling makes my economy shine as you'll see around Ketchikan and Craig.
Our twin forties now have over 2,000 hours and I am faithful to change fluids every hundred hours but engines continue to sing and are the reliable backbone of our boat. I hope these attachments come through. We look forward to the 06 cruise and enjoyed seeing the CD 22 Raven in Ketchikan last summer.

Sorry, the limit was three attachments. Here is the 2002 spreadsheet.
3 gallons per hour and about three NM per gallon seems to be the rule on my boat.

Great stuff!! Just getting home and opened my two large wall size AK maps of the inside passage.... Now I have to see if I can find the company I bought them from..... I have two exact copies of the same area instead of the northern and southern parts.... I am good to go from Skagway down to about 150 miles south of Prince Rupert.... but missing the other map.
I think they were called Soray or Sobay Company out of Olympia, WA. Will have to attempt to see if I kept my receipt and/or look them up thru my American Express. Great dreaming wall maps....even if I have two of the same.

Thanks Shawn. This information would have been nice to have while contemplating our trip to Desolation Sound last year. We're running a single 75 hp and I wouldn't expect much deviation.
I extrapolated your information to determine your average nautical miles per hour (per annual trip) which ranged from 8 to 10 which is also useful information for anyone planning a extended trip.
Your a lucky dog to have the opportunity to spend so much time in your C-Dory in such an exceptional part of our world.
Thanks again. Tim

Shawn
Good to hear from you again. I have enjoyed reading the adventures of Tonie O. Can you post a link to the recent trips.
Thanks
Terry

Thanks Casey. I think you are on it! Sorry.. I had already started a new thread looking for help on this. Good news is no charge has shown up yet on my card...and I have two nice maps... but I truly want the southern portion.
