Good evening, Mark. Thanks for the story!

I think I got your links and albums all in line with what you were after. I renamed the sub album containing the story pictures as 23 Venture Story and changed the link in your original post on the story (this one) to go to the right spot.

If that all seems to be working for you I can delete this thread so the discussion - along with the Oohs & Ahs - will all be in one spot.

Hey Tyboo Mike, I just tried your link, which took me back to the original story thread, and then linked on Mark's photo link, and it smoothly took me to the Venture story. So I think you did a great job in fixing it! I'm all for deleting this thread now, if the OP is happy with what you did. Colby

Here is the boat as it is assembled into one unit prior to heading over to the assembly shop to get all the small parts glassed in!

Hey Mark,
Is that by chance the Venture 23 that is being build for me? Marty at Master Marine just sent me some photos of my build. Is this one and the same?

Mark,
Thank you for annotating the photos. Boat looks great!

Are you doing the lamination with the mold on its side?

Are you using resin infusion technology?

Are you using vacuum bagging when the core and inner layer is applied?

For those who do not know, C Dory is one of the few companies who keep the hull and deck in the molds when the hull to deck joint is glassed together. This makes the strongest hull and hull to deck joint. Other builders may use "glue" adhesives, pop rivets or an "H" section of aluminum to attach the hull to the deck--and it is done out of the molds.

I did not know this Bob. Credit goes to NMI because this adds labor costs to the build. With the glass strengthening this joint it would also reduce flexing which causes leaks. Makes me appreciate my C-Dory even more.

Mark thanks for the story the picture where the rear deck is being glassed in looks like that would be an air tight compartment is there any structure supports under that? Is the 22 done the same way?
