This is the time of year where C-Belle starts to get condensation along the deckhead where the interior lights and speakers are mounted. I took the starboard deckhead off and sprayed the fiberglass with a clear rubber spray to create a barrier. It's been a week now and that side has stayed dry so will do the same to the port side next. An easy fix to stop the dripping.

For those who don't understand the terminology the "deckhead" is the ceiling or underside of the deck.

How did you take the "Deckhead" off? I am also interested in what spray you used?

When we have had condensation it has been mostly in the forward cabin when we were sleeping --and also in the rest of the boat, including cabin wall sides, windows etc.

Mascoat but there are others also. There is a thread or two here on the site. Marinauts used this material for a bit. They are nice folks but this is a large application material but they have sold smaller quantiles. It can be brushed or rolled but a strong airless is best. Two to three coats is likely optimal and some folks have added a latex overcoat to make it easier to clean but that cuts down on the soundproofing qualities. In my mind, much better than glued on foam, liners, or the like. Also, real vents and dry heat, fans, and did I mention ventilation? On my last boat I used a box fan over the forward hatch (110V) with a small thermostatically controlled heater from Walmart (also 110V), and the the boat cover well off the deck (I have been called something like the word "deckhead" but I forgave that person. C-Belle is a 29 Venture, not like most of our boats. Here is a pix from the C-Belle album:

"Port deckhead photo"

Might be an indication of what happens when there is a liner involved.

I wasn't using it to stop leaks but to create a coating over the fiberglass. I also have two Stor-Dry fans.
One can gave me three + good coats for that area. I'm gonna do the Port side and take photos next time.
