We get to the launch and I climb up on the trailer and found the door lock must have vibrated the lock and the keys are in the ignition. I put my finger through the screen and slide it back and my 4' 10" wife was able to climb through the window and unlock the boat. I plan on getting another key and will find a spot to stash it outside the cockpit some where. Good thing she was there today and it was not a guys fishing trip!!

C-Minor,
I purchased a flat pouch, with Velcro and had a spare door and ignition key made (both keys are flat). Then hid the pouch. We always carried spare keys when traveling, but figured that we may inadvertently leave the spares in the cabin, when wondering away from the boat.
This is similar to what I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/Lucky-Line-Pouch-Hider-91301/dp/B000KFSZ0W/ref=asc_df_B000KFSZ0W/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=193157030383&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10948733454334311195&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9008589&hvtargid=pla-343926073564&psc=1

I purchase a magnetic backed key box like the kind you used to able to use on cars/trucks before plastic was used everywhere and you could open the hood without unlatching it from inside the vehicle (reveals my age, eh!). I glued a similar sized piece of sheet metal to the rear ceiling of the lazerette and can't see it but just reach in to retrieve or store it. Same thing for a house key hidden under an overhang that can't be seen.

I kept a spare key in a water proof container wedged out of sight between the battery and the bulkhead in the rear cockpit lazerette.
Let your "emergency contact" know where it is in case of emergency and you are out of town.

I carry a set with my car keys. Never in ignition always take both sets out when not in boat. On a floatable key ring so will not loose in ocean when in boat. Always a set in my pocket

I have a spare set in my truck. Won't help much if we get locked out while away in the boat though. However, the lock I have for my boat is a dead bolt. From the outside a key is needed to operate it. Not sure how it could lock by itself even from vibration. I'm more concerned about losing the keys in my pocket than the door locking inadvertently.

This happened to me on the 25!! I agree that the lock on door handle isn't that great. My lock was open as well but when the door closed it must have rattled or something and locked!
