|
|
We have a new dock & lift(It is a 10,000 lb Tide Tamer lift) I told them when they installed it about my boat (25 Cruiser) and how the hull is almost flat. I am just worried how these bunks are placed they may not be right for my boat. Does anyone have any pictures of their lift for their C-Dory?

C-Pearl,
I’ll take a photo of my lift skids this morning, once I get the boat in the water. Mine is a 26, but the 25 fits the lift, almost exactly the same. My intake for my air conditioner, also had to be considered, when setting up the bunks... _________________ Steve Baum

Your bunks are angled, more like a v hull would be. I would angle them out a bit so there will be more contact on the hull. My bunks are flat so I angled them in to better fit the hull. _________________ '13 25' Cruiser "Finale"

C-Pearl,
I put OSPREY in the water and got the photos posted on my photo album for you. The bunks are spaced 49" center to center and the forward end of the bunks are 4" higher than the aft end to allow for drainage.
BBlalock's statement is correct. The bunks only have a slight angle inwards, just like my trailer bunks (see photos of my trailer in the albums as well). |

I have been able to sue the same setup on bunks for the Tom Cat, C Dory 22 and 25 as well as the Caracal cat (spacing of hulls identical to Tom Cat).
Very little cant to the bunks. But I have double 2 x 10 (true dimensional lumber, which is salt water treated.) spaced about 4" apart on edge for each side.
Looking at your photo, it looks as if you have aluminum rectangular tubes with a composition on the top, which may have a Built in (not adjustable) angle. Those need to be changed out to flat boards which will follow the contour of the hull. Ie the rectangular tubing and on top a piece of aluminum which allows articulation ("L" brackets on both the bottom of the bunk board and top of the rectangular tube. Your bunks are made for a deep "V"
My lift is 16,000#, but otherwise looks very similar to yours. You can put the boat on the lift, see how it fits, and then make adjustments--you may want to set the angle a bit more forward and let the bunks take a slight set, or keep them flat. Having them articulate works well, and allows to follow the contour of the hull with time. _________________ Bob Austin

Thank you everyone, and Bob I think you are right, mine don't look like they are adjustable, so I have reached out to my dock builder, and sent him the pictures of Steve's lift which is what mine needs to be like. |

I posted another photo in my album that shows OSPREY on the lift, in its normal storage position. |
