I just received my new helm seat from Bentleys Mfg. they let me pic great colors to match, and also went for the all vinyl swimsuit friendly seat. very firm compared to original seat. Please see photos in my album if curious.

No Question about it. Bentley's makes the best seats in the biz. I like the gray vs. white

Looks great. It looks like it leans back quite a ways. Is it adjustable, and will it fold forward to give you a flat surface on the back?

Thank you for your response.

Yes, it folds down to almost flat, (within 10 degrees maybe) way more than the original seat did.
I was also able to pick from 4 diff hinge colors , so I got gray to match the fabric, and piping colors also an option. I got GREAT service on the phone and had several emails back and forth picking colors so it would match boat. And they didn't even want a deposit!!! Cigar

Thank you. I just talked to Mark at the factory about getting a replacement helm seat. When I asked about color choices he said it would be best to go straight to Bentley. They do make great seats.

I’d like to echo what chucko said. We also purchased a new helm seat from Bentleys, about 8 months ago. The service was stellar and the seat is beautiful and way (way, way) more comfortable than the original seat. Granted, by the time I replaced it that seat was roughly 14 years old, but even when we bought the boat 8 years ago the standard seat was less than comfortable. Not sure why I waited so long. Now that I have the new one I wish I did this many years ago. Bentleys gave us a first class product. I have a couple of pictures in our album, on page 2 of the “Projects” sub album.

I'm thinking of getting one of these Bentley's . What's the approximate cost?

The cost for the model I bought (Sport Deluxe) was $268. They make that seat in 2 sizes. I bought the “large” because it was closer in size to the original seat. I’m a relatively small person but the large size fits me perfectly. The other size was much more narrow.

Rob, Really looks nice and it just the perfect color Wink From looking at pix of their seats it looks to me like they lean back farther than I would be comfortable. Does it look like there is any way to adjust them to a more vertical back position? With the factory seats it was easy to bend a washer over an fit it under the back of the hinge.

Keep in mind they make many diff seats for other boats as well, and they can put the c dory logo on those too. You can even get them heated ,among other options. Just visit web Bentleysmfg.com

Harvey, the seat back is not adjustable. That was a concern for me because I like the back to be relatively straight for better support. I know the seat looks like it leans back but when I’m seated it fits my back quite well and offers good support. For me, it’s set at a very comfortable angle. The back is also higher than the original seat and I like that. It’s not visually overpowering in height, just a few inches that also add to the amount of back support.

I might add, the seat cushion is thicker than the original so when I mounted it I was able to remove 2 small pieces of wood that had been used to raise the height of the original helm seat.

I could have had the C-Dory logo embroidered on the back and gave it much consideration because I really like the look, but since my Venture model is technically a Cape Cruiser with the Cape Cruiser logo on the sides of the cabin I chose not to confuse that aspect.

For that price, I'm doing it!

I like that model since it seems so similar to the factory seat. I am only interested in what RobMcClain characterized as "and way (way, way) more comfortable than the original seat". I don't need extremely comfortable, but more confortable than what I have sounds delicious!

I'll have to be careful that the new seat does not put me too high. My boat was customized to include a counter top type panel that slides out from under the helm seat. That puts me higher already than standard.

Just remember that my comment about the seat comfort is based on my original seat being 14 years old. On that seat I could hit the seat bottom in rough seas! But I do love the new seat.
