Our boat came with a Go Light Mounted on the bow railing. While we almost never use it, it is operational and we want to keep it that way just in case. Ours has both a hard wired dash switch and it also has a wireless remote that we do not even keep in the boat.
Since we have had the boat, on three different occasions the light was turned on without me knowing. The first time I thought I must have bumped it by accident and in the morning when we woke up The house battery was lower than it should be and then I noticed the light had been on during the night. We have had the boat out at Sekiu all summer and twice during our stay the light came on by itself and was also tilted al the way up and to the side. Both times I got a call from fiends that noticed it and was able to get it turned off before the battery went dead.. I have checked every time we leave the boat to make sure it is off.
Then it occurred to me that the service trucks where I used to work were equipped with these same lights and there were problems with one truck using their remote and it triggering the light of another truck and caused some dead batteries.
I have come to the conclusion that another boat at the marina that was using a remote of some kind inadvertently triggered our light to come on. I do not want to leave power off on the boat because I want our sump pumps to be active. I plan to put a power supply shut off switch to the light so that this does not happen anymore and cause a dead battery.
I just thought that I would pass our experience on to to others to beware of a possible dead battery from these lights.

You are correct. I installed one on our 22 the susan e . First weekend I used it in friday harbor I was going crazy trying to turn if off. I was turning on the boat across from us ever time I turned my off or his off and mine on. I had to pull the fuse for it while we were there.
