Colby here’s a link to the stripper lures https://wayneswords.net/threads/striper-lures.299/
I use Luckycraft Sammy’s and Rapala deep drivers. If you want to fish with bait then use a mooching rig (don’t know if I spelled that right) I’ll see if I can find some info on that. _________________ Jody Kidd

I use an egg loop knot to tie up the mooching rigs. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TRmv44xlAmE
I use #6 Gamakatsu Octopus hooks red if I can get them. Two or three hooks per rig. Put the bait on so it will do a slow rolling action. You need to keep the anchovies frozen for it to work well. |

We are home after a 5 day trip to Lake Powell. Six boats in attendance. Discovery, C-Traveler, Voyager, Cat-Claw, Mystery Girl, and Deja La. The lake was as busy as I have ever seen it. People social distancing from all over the country. We stayed in the Goodhope Basin area. Cedar Canyon was a zoo. Ticaboo Canyon for us most nights. Fishing was good for Stripers for us. We cooked up four fish for hor devours on Saturday night. Most of the group are still on the lake. _________________

Not much social distancing in that tight little knot of Striper treats eaters in front of Discovery. Ticaboo was a beautiful anchorage. |

Had a great time. No fish on the end of my line for me, so Brent and Dixie's fish tasted great! I traveled the last couple of days with Mystery Girl, and we'd catch up with DeJa La a few times. So glad I turned back around 5 days after being home from our earlier time out west. Just Mystery Girl and Deja La are still on the lake to my knowledge. I rafted with Bill last night, across from Hole in the Rock and then left early to pull out at Halls. I had thought about taking the Ferry over to Bullfrog, to drive home from there, cutting off about 50 miles, and just for the ride. But I guess it's having mechanical problems and has been up and down all week. It was down this morning, and probably for the rest of the week. Sending this from Montello, UT, on my way home. Colby |

Colby, sorry I missed you in MontiCello, UT, It is my stop and fuel up spot going south. Have a safe trip on the road, enjoy and be careful, that bug is still out and about.

Lew my guess is that you mean Stripers and not strippers. |

My guess is the lure will make the difference. Not many thousand dollar bills in my tackle box. Maybe some boater bucks. I do have some salt water striper lures that have bin tested and approved buy 20 pound fish. Luck not skill was involved that day at Beach Haven NJ. Lew |

Lew, I believe it was the 2014 CBGT when we saw the strippers at Defiance House in Forgotten Canyon. The striper fishing was good there that year as well. _________________ "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln |

Well, trailer brake issues on the way home. No one is going to convince me that EOH and dealing with hydraulics is better than electric! The short version is, somewhere between the Summit view (on I70 near Breckenridge) and the east side of Denver, I lost a brake caliper. I mean it just fell off and left the hydraulic lines hanging and dragging on the ground. Unable to find any shops that could do an emergency repair (or any work on it at all). Did find a union to splice the hydraulic lines together to at least get the other 3 brakes working again, but having problems with the flexible poly tube blowing without it's surrounding fabric braid in tact. Needless to say, I'll be installing all new brake line, along with the missing caliper when I get back home. And definitely going back to all electric brakes when I get a new trailer!!! Colby |

Did you lose the two pins on the caliper or the 4 bolts on the bracket? |
