My parents just bought a 25 Cruiser and my mom and I are looking for an experienced boater to teach us the basics. Anyone in the greater Tampa area interested in helping us learn? [/b] |

I saw your post on the C-Dory site. The advice there was good.
I think that you should go out with an experienced Captain, take some classes, and prepare to make a few mistakes….we all made/make mistakes.
There’s a lot to learn, but I’ll bet some C-Brat down there would love to start you off.

First you have to learn to row a little boat.
Like learning to walk before you run, take a
US Power Squadron or USCG basic boating course.
Then practice what you've learned. Not with your
parents boat. Use someone else's.
